The record low comes in the middle of a heated election season.
President Joe Biden's approval rating has hit an all-time low of 37.4 percent. The low number comes as the president is facing Donald Trump in the upcoming 2024 election in November.
According to 538's senior editor and senior elections analyst Nathaniel Rakich, 538's average approval rating for Biden hit the all-time low of 37.4 percent on Monday.
The lowest record approval rating for the president comes amid the ongoing crisis on immigration at the southern border as well as wars going on in the middle east as well as Ukraine. At this point in Trump's presidency, around day 1,238, he had an approval rating of 40.8 percent.
In a recent poll, 62 percent of Americans have said that they would approve of mass deportation efforts in the US, including a majority of Hispanic voters. The border continues to dog Biden as one of the top issues that voters are concerned with around the country. This is despite him taking executive action on the border, which reportedly will not stop at least 1.5 million illegal immigrants coming to the US each year.
The poll that measured the deportation effort approval also showed among other top issues that voters care about. This included the economy as well as inflation. A couple topics that are not of top concern for the majority of Americans includes race and diversity as well as climate change. According to the most recent average poll numbers on 538, Trump is ahead of Biden by one point if the election were to be held today.
