Residents of Oakville Ontario from Fourth Line to Birch have been told to shelter in their basements due to what is being called an "active situation."
Police say they received a call at 1:20 pm on Friday reporting possible gunfire, adding that there may be a situation involving two barricaded people. Police have brought in crisis negotiators to the scene, along with a K9 unit.
There is a heavy police presence in this area, including frontline officers, our Tactical Rescue Unit, and K9.

Residents in the immediate vicinity of the involved residence who were notified in person to shelter in place should continue to do so.
