Conservative Party leader Erin O'Toole said on Tuesday that his party was united, despite the party giving itself the power to, among other things, remove O'Toole from his position as leader at any point.

O'Toole took questions on Tuesday following a press conference wherein he told Canadians that he took full responsibility for the party's shortcomings in the 2021 election, and that a full and thorough review of the campaign would be completed.

O'Toole said that—while the party did vote to be able to launch a leadership review at any time—his party was united under him.

"Our caucus is fully united, and we're ready to get to work for Canadians," said O'Toole, who said he voted his party's Reform Act, and that he encourages people to "vote for it today," to ensure that the caucus remains "united, and focused."

"We had a discussion with all caucus today. It was a very important discussion as a team—as a family. It was the first time I was ever able to gather with my entire team in one room, because of the pandemic.

"We are all disappointed with the results of the election, no one more so than me," said O'Toole, who detailed his party's plan along with the national counsel the conservative party, and the caucus to conduct a review of the party's election shortcomings.
