PublicSq will be making its initial public offering this Thursday.
PublicSq will launch its initial public offering this coming Thursday under the ticker symbol, PSQH, on the New York Stock Exchange, according to Fox Business.
The company was founded in January of 2021 with the idea to make a marketplace with companies whose values aligned with more patriotic values. The company CEO, Michael Seifert, and some of his friends put a list of companies on a digital platform and allowed others to join.
Other companies started joining the online marketplace immediately. Seifert told Fox Business, "Clearly, there's this very large, unaddressed market in the United States that feels like, in the era of sort of woke or progressive corporatism, they're not being talked to. In fact, in many cases, they're being actively ignored or antagonized."
The platform has over 55,000 businesses and 1.1 million active consumers. Accounts to register are free for both buyers and sellers.
Registration for sellers takes four minutes and they commit to not spending money or resources antagonistically against the values of the platform.
Blog posts are featured on the platform highlighting alternatives and patriotic-focused products. In one post it says, "Time to Muscle Up your protein bar game! Buy Muscle Up Bars and ditch RXBar."
The blog post says, "When you purchase an RXBar you’re also giving your hard-earned dollars to a company that covers abortion procedures."
Other posts are similar to the RXBar article and compare potential patriotic product alternatives side by side with common store brands.
Seifert insisted that nobody has to be political to use the platform. He said, however, that PublicSq is "certainly asking [businesses] not to lecture us about our views and values and to live in alignment with those so that our consumers don't feel like they're having to fund causes they stand opposed to."
PublicSq's store platform is now available for download on the Apple Store as well as Google Play. On Wednesday, PublicSq was also the third most downloaded free shopping app on the Apple App Store, coming behind Shein and Temu, and coming ahead of Amazon and Walmart.
