Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had news to share with the public on Thursday, as his wife, Casey, was finally declared cancer-free.

Gov. DeSantis simply tweeted, "Excited to share this update about First Lady @FLCaseyDeSantis’ health:"

Casey DeSantis herself expressed her full gratitude upon hearing the great news, replying to her husband's statement and saying, "There are no words to express how truly blessed, grateful and humbled I am to hear the words cancer-free."

"To those who are in the fight, know there is hope. Have faith and stay strong."

As recently as Dec 31 2021, Democrat politicians recently acted in a tone-deaf manner, telling the media the Florida governor was "missing" when he was really accompanying his wife on one of the treatments she had to undergo for her cancer.

Some mainstream journalists also picked up on the "Gov. DeSantis is missing" theme, later facing backlash for their own statements.

The DeSantis administration has been controversial in many ways. Gov. DeSantis himself has been a vocal opponent of things like school mask mandates, clashing with the CDC, the federal government and, sometimes, local governments within his home state.

He recently also famously refused a Biden administration request to activate the Florida National Guard for the State of the Union speech.
