On Saturday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to deliver a speech at the Cradle of Aviation in Museum in Garden City, Long Island billed on eventbrite as his "Florida Blueprint."

DeSantis is making the appearance as part of a book tour for his The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival and "the book tour has been widely seen as a soft launch for the governor’s expected White House run," according to the New York Daily News.

Jerelyn Zontini, a spokeswoman for the aerospace museum, said that her institution did not plan the event, which was organized by And To The Republic.

Politico reports that the And To The Republic is a non-profit 501c4 group, a distinction that is broader than a 501c3 and is supposed to promote "social welfare."

That type of nonprofit does not have to disclose its donor information but "can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money advocating for policies it supports," reports Politico.

The group hosted three events for DeSantis after its launch in February.

A person close to the group said they were "proud to help host the events today featuring Governor Ron DeSantis that put a spotlight on those state policies that are working and those that are clearly not working."

According to the event's listing, "Governor Ron DeSantis created a blueprint for freedom in Florida that serves as a model for the rest of the nation. No leader has accomplished more for his state than Governor DeSantis, and he is now sharing this winning blueprint with the country."

Michigan-based Republican strategist Tori Sachs oversees To the Republic. She has worked as an advisor to Republican  Representative John James and for groups such as Michigan Freedom Fund and Michigan Rising Action.

Ron DeSantis has not announced his bid for president and has lagged behind former President Donald Trump in recent polls.

DeSantis' visit to New York follows news that Trump will travel to Manhattan next week to deal with his indictment in Manhattan. The indictment was announced on Thursday and came out of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg's office. DeSantis described the move by Bragg as "un-American."

Former New York Republican candidate for governor Lee Zeldin is slated to talk at the event and GOP Representative Anthony D’Esposito, who is the congressman for the district, is set to attend.
