On Saturday, Steve Bannon announced that he would be hosting a live War Room show on Monday outside Danbury Federal Prison, the facility where he is set to be placed in for his contempt of Congress charge.

Bannon made the announcement, saying, "The change of command show—temporarily being relieved by the War Room working group and our cohost—will be on Monday."

Bannon made the "change of command" show announcement in preparation for him to report to the prison that same day.

Danbury has a low-security prison designation and Bannon will be set to serve out his four-month sentence with more than 1,000 other inmates in the facility. Danbury also has a satellite location that is a minimum-security prison with around 100 inmates.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), "Minimum security institutions, also known as Federal Prison Camps (FPCs), have dormitory housing, a relatively low staff-to-inmate ratio, and limited or no perimeter fencing." These usually have a program and work focus. Low-security prisons, however, have worse conditions for those who are imprisoned. “Low security Federal Correctional Institutions (FCIs) have double-fenced perimeters, mostly dormitory or cubicle housing, and strong work and program components," the BOP website states.

Bannon was convicted on being held in contempt of Congress and is set to serve four months in the federal prison. After being served a subpoena by the January 6 Committee, he ignored it and argued in the case that he had invoked executive privilege as he was an advisor to Trump leading up to J6.

When the subpoena in 2021 was sent to Bannon he wrote in response at the time that "to the fullest extent permitted by law, President Trump instructs Mr. Bannon to: (a) where appropriate, invoke any immunities and privileges he may have from compelled testimony in response to the Subpoena; (b) not produce any documents concerning privileged material in response to the Subpoena; and (c) not provide any testimony concerning privileged material in response to the Subpoena."

Bannon was sentenced on contempt of Congress charges in October 2022, he appealed the case, and the appeals court upheld the decision earlier this year. Bannon then appealed directly to the Supreme Court of the United States. Although the appeal to SCOTUS is still in process, the court denied a motion from Bannon to remain outside of prison as the decision goes through.

Bannon is set to be in prison right up until election time in November.
