CNN's vacancy in the wake of the firing of former anchor Chris Cuomo is soon to be filled, and according to a new report, Chris Wallace and Brian Williams are the two top candidates for the position.
Cuomo's career with CNN ended spectacularly on Dec 4 2021, when Jeff Zucker, the network's head, decided to terminate his contract based on evidence that he was using his position with CNN to help his brother Andrew.
Ironically, the elder Cuomo was also forced to resign as Governor of New York State due to almost a dozen allegations of sexual harassment against women with whom he worked.
Wallace had been a host for Fox News show for 18 years. He left Fox mere days after Cuomo was fired. His last episode with the outlet was on Dec 12, 2021, and the anchor immediately went to work at CNN+.
Brian William's final sign-off with MSNBC took place three days earlier, on Dec 9 2021. Williams, during that last episode, made an impassioned and dramatic speech at the time, warning about what he was as the dangers of American institutions being eroded, and famously worrying about the possibility of "America burning down."
