"Gill will be a great member of Congress, and the Club for Growth is committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure he wins the race."
Brandon Gill, who is running for the 26th Congressional District seat in Texas, received an endorsement from the Club for Growth PAC on Monday. Gill is running to replace Rep. Michael Burgess, a Republican who is retiring at the end of his term.
Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh said in a statement, "Brandon Gill is a free market economic conservative who is committed to cutting federal spending, lowering taxes, and eliminating special interest tax credits. He is also a proud supporter of digital assets and term limits."
"Gill will be a great member of Congress, and the Club for Growth is committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure he wins the race," he added.
The PAC "endorses and raises money for candidates who stay true to the fundamental principles of limited government and economic freedom," according to the group’s website. The Club for Growth PAC is the largest independent political action committee in the US, and candidates endorsed by the PAC in 2022 won 75 percent of their races.
Gill has received a number of high-profile endorsements, including Texas Senator Ted Cruz and 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.
Gill announced in early January that in less than two months since launching his campaign, he had raised around $1.5 million.
"The broken status quo in Washington must change," Gill said at the time. "It's an honor to receive support from across our district who want to send an America First candidate to Washington."
He vowed to "fight to secure our southern border, end reckless spending, and stop woke and weaponized government," adding, "We have a country to save."
