Hutchins, 42, was fatally shot by Baldwin with a live round from a prop gun while rehearsing on Oct. 21, 2021, in New Mexico. Director Joel Souza was also wounded in the shooting.
Among the crew members who could be charged are armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and assistant director Dave Halls. Both handled the gun before Baldwin.
Baldwin has repeatedly claimed that he didn't pull the trigger. However, an investigation revealed that this was the only way the gun could actually have been fired and that he was the one who pulled the trigger which killed Hutchins as she stood behind the camera.
Though the criminal investigation concluded in 2022, it remains unclear what charges DA Mary Carmack-Altwies might be considering against Baldwin and the crew.
In October, Baldwin settled a lawsuit filed by the family of Hutchins for an undisclosed amount of money. As part of the agreement, Matthew Hutchins, Halyna’s widower, will act as an executive producer when the film resumes production.
