CRINGEFEST: Joe Biden reaches new low at embarrassing White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Donald Trump did not attend the dinners while in office, Biden said, calling the former Republican president a “horrible plague.”

In the first White House Correspondents' Association dinner since the COVID-19 pandemic, President Joe Biden took aim at the GOP, Donald Trump, Fox News, and suffered a self-inflicted wardrobe malfunction.

Biden told the audience that he’s not here to roast the GOP, noting that, "there’s nothing I can say about the GOP that Kevin McCarthy hasn’t already put on tape."

Biden noted that he's not "worried about the midterms," and that "we may end up with more partisan gridlock, but I'm confident we can work it out during my remaining six years in the presidency."

Taking aim at Republicans in Floria who have passed anti-grooming legislation, Biden said: "Ronald Reagan said, 'Mr. Gorbachev, tear this wall down!' Today’s Republicans say, tear down Mickey Mouse's house! And pretty soon they’ll be storming Cinderella's castle, and you can be sure of it."

Biden noted that the Republicans seem to be backing "one fella" named "Brandon."

"Some guy named Brandon," Biden said. "He’s having a really good year."

The chant "Let's go Brandon" became popular last year after a NBC reporter said the crowd, which was chanting "F*ck Joe Biden," was actually praising NASCAR Talladega race winner Brandon Brown.

Biden went on to take aim at Fox News, expressing his condolences that their "preferred candidate" lost the last election, but adding that "I’m happy to give my chief of staff to you all so he can tell Sean Hannity what to say everyday."

Pivoting to vaccine policy, Biden said for those at home wondering how everyone could be gathered in the same room at close quarters, attendees had to prove they are fully vaccinated and boosted to attend the dinner.

"If you are at home watching this, and you are wondering how to do that, just contact your favorite Fox News reporter," he said. "They are all here. Vaccinated and boosted."

Biden’s speech follows former Fox executive Preston Padden’s comments last year that Fox News caused the unnecessary deaths of Americans by fueling COVID-19 vaccine hesitation, as reported by Axios.

Trump did not attend the dinners while he was in office, Biden said on Saturday, calling the former Republican president a "horrible plague."

The president also gave himself a hilarious wardrobe malfunction when he tugged on his bow tie, which then sat lopsided for the remainder of his speech.

Members of the media in the room are the "only group of Americans who have a lower approval rating than I have," Biden said.

During Joe Biden's fifth quarter in office, which began on January 20 and ended on April 19, an average of 41.3 percent of US adults approved of the job he was doing as president. That gives Biden the second lowest approval ratings for any president in their fifth quarter, surpassed only by Donald Trump, reported Gallup.

After mocking the press for the duration of his speech, Biden said a free press is "not the enemy of the people," a line frequently iterated by Trump.
