‘PURE CRINGE’: Former Canadian PM Justin Trudeau bounces around in girlfriend Katy Perry’s new music video

The video, posted to Perry's Instagram, shows the singer dressed in a jumpsuit and singing the lyrics to the song. The newest video is similar in style to others that she has done, where she begins jumping up and down and then others enter the frame. This time, Trudeau was among them.

The former Canadian Prime Minister was among the background dancers bouncing up and down to accompany Perry in the video. Trudeau was wearing khaki pants, a green shirt, and boots for the debut.

The video including Trudeau has gone viral this week after Perry posted it on Thursday. Reactions to the video varied on social media platforms. On Instagram, where comments on the post were limited, some reacted positively to the former G7 leader. One user commented, "The concept of Justin Trudeau in a TikTok, slay."

Another wrote, "Omg! Justin is in this one!"

But on X, many users characterized the video with the 54-year-old Canadian politician as "cringe."

The account Dr. Jebra Faushay wrote in a caption to the video, "Katy Perry is dressed like a giant toddler while Justin Trudeau bops around like a retard. Pure cringe."

The Post Millennial's Canada-based Beth Baisch took a more serious tone, saying "Trudeau is living his best life after destroying our standard of living."

Mario Nawfal wrote in response, "Fmr. Canadian PM Justin Trudeau is now bouncing around in the background of girlfriend Katy Perry's new music video like an 18-year-old backup dancer. From running a G7 country to B-roll."
