REVEALED: Disney’s new woke Snow White encouraged the cancelation of Gina Carano over pronoun joke

Turns out, she doesn't like it. She's been pushing back against it, posting things like "I hope the world becomes kinder" as social media excoriates her.

Zegler, however, is no stranger to cancel culture. Zegler championed the cancelling of Mandalorian actress Gina Carano when fury sparked in fall 2020 over her critique of Covid-inspired lockdowns, and against compelled speech via mandated preferred pronouns. The studio had told Carano had to put preferred pronouns in her bio.

As she later explained to Tucker Carlson, Carano didn't even know what the phenomenon was or what it was about, but she definitely didn't like being told what to say when not on screen.

Under pressure, Carano changed her pronouns on Twitter in September 2020, but she changed them to "beep/bop/boop." For that, she was accused of "mocking trans people." Carano pushed back, saying her post had only to do with "exposing the bullying mentality of the mob that has taken over the voices of many genuine causes."

Carano was later fired from her role in the Disney Star Wars series and released by her talent agent.

But Zegler was 100 percent on board. As the anger against Carano mounted, she said "do not make fun of pronouns."

"they are not a joke!" Zegler continued, a black circle replacing her profile picture on then-Twitter, "pronouns are validating! pronouns are cool! put your pronouns in your bio! i wear my pronouns on a button sometimes! it's a good thing! bye!"

"it's a fun time to remind you all to love pedro pascal," she added for good measure. Pascal played opposite Carano in Mandalorian.

Zegler has been vocal about her disdain for the film Snow White, and the northern European fable behind it. She claimed that the new film, a live-action remake, has a "modern edge."

When asked about it, she said "I just mean that it's no longer 1937. And we absolutely wrote a Snow White that's not going to be shaped by the prince, and she's not going to be dreaming about true love, she's going to be dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be, and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she were fearless, fair, brave, and true."

"And so it's just a really incredible story," Zegler went on, "for, I think, young people everywhere to see themselves in."

Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire, a company with which Carano made a comeback, starring in Daily Wire feature Terror on the Prairie, said "Disney is trying a really interesting marketing strategy where the star of the new Snow White spends a year before the movie’s release publicly talking about how much she despises Snow White."

A women's rights activist blasted Zegler for her remarks over Carano, saying "Rachel Zegler is getting it in the neck for the Snow White fiasco & I don't care. She wasn't calling for people to 'be kind' when she was calling Gina Carano a b*tch & leading the pitchfork-wielding mob that got Gina cancelled for made-up transphobia. Reap what you sow."

She shared even more than Zegler's tweets on the matter, including the screenshots of anti-Carano replies as well.

"I was scared of the original cartoon," Zegler said in an interview. "I think I watched it once and then I never picked it up again. Like I'm being so serious—I watched it once and then I went on the ride at Disney World which is called Snow White's Scary Adventures—doesn't sound like something a little kid would like—was terrified of it, never revisited Snow White again. So I watched it probably for the first time in 16, 17 years when I was doing this film."

The new Snow White, which hasn't been released yet, only has one dwarf, played by iconic Hollywood small person Peter Dinklage, who encouraged the studio to not employ any other people of his stature because he claimed it would be offensive. Gender and racially diverse folx of a more average height replace the remaining dwarfs.
