Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) on Saturday lashed out against Republicans in Congress for not doing more to denounce a prank caller who, on the night previous, told the Bidens "Let's go Brandon" before hanging up.

"Don’t waste your time on the pathetic dad who humiliated his family to say F-U to the president on Christmas Eve. He’s irrelevant. Spend your time asking why Republican leaders are celebrating him. This isn’t my parents' Republican Party. This new crew are indecent to their core," tweeted Swalwell:

Of course, not everybody in the political sphere shares Swalwell's view of the situation. Former Trump campaign staffer David Wohl obviously feels Swalwell is overreacting to the incident. He also went a step further to indicate what he feels is the hypocrisy of Swalwell's criticism of his colleagues:

Swalwell was indeed very close at one point to a woman known as Christine Fang, who is now known to have been operating as a spy for the Chinese Communist Party at the time.

Jared Schmeck, the Oregon man who made the prank call, has come forward and talked to the media, saying that he doesn't have any ill will towards Biden, and that the call was meant just to be a joke.
