"The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Charlie Kirk."
The FBI announced on Thursday that it is offering up to $100,000 for any information that leads to the identification and arrest of those responsible for the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Kirk, 31, held an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday afternoon, during which he was shot in the neck, leading to his death.
"The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah," the FBI announced.
Those with information are urged to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit photo and video evidence to its Utah Valley Shooting tip website.
Earlier on Thursday, the FBI published images of a person of interest they are seeking in connection with the fatal shooting. The person depicted is seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt with an American flag decal on it, as well as jeans, sunglasses, and a baseball cap.
Authorities have described the shooter as being college-aged and have said that the shooting was targeted. Ammunition cartridges retrieved from a weapon found in nearby woods, which was believed to be the weapon used in the killing, had writings on them related to trans and Antifa ideologies. As of Thursday afternoon, the shooter remains at large.
Authorities said they have video footage of the shooting suspect, but have declined to release it at this point. "We’re working through some technologies and some ways to identify this individual. If we are unsuccessful, we will reach out to you as the media, and we will push that publicly to help us identify them."
