Two people were arrested on Sunday following a fight involving two chainsaws that police say included a "large group of people" close to Cherry beach in Toronto, reports BlogTO.

The incident took place at roughly 9:45 a.m. on Sunday morning.

"Encountered two men bleeding, carrying running chainsaws on my morning ride on the trail leading to Cherry Beach from Tommy Thompson," noted Valeria Laurin on Twitter after witnessing the scene.

Another Twitter user said there were "two guys with chainsaws covered in blood" who were "charging people" at Cherry Beach. Laurin, however, said she didn't see the two charging at anyone and added that she didn't think they were attacking people.

Though there are varying accounts of the incident, witnesses all appear to agree that the chainsaws the men were carrying were running.

One witness who called the police, said, "I was running along the trail and saw two guys pick up chainsaws. They were both bleeding, it seemed like they had attacked one another and were in rough shape themselves."

A number of police officers arrived on the scene and arrested two people. Toronto Police Const. Caroline de Kloet said that two others involved in the incident suffered unknown injuries.

Const. de Kloet said the first 911 caller mentioned the chainsaws but it is not believed that they were being used as weapons.

"Went for my morning beach coffee at Cherry Beach today. Big mistake! I get out of the car at the far end of the parking lot and these two runners and a cyclist are talking frantically," said another witness on Facebook.

"They are telling people not to go on the trail. They just saw two men covered in blood, carrying running chainsaws. They came at the ladies, then ran off into the woods. It had just happened. 10 minutes later every police car in the city was there."

Toronto Police Service told The Post Millennial, "Police were called to the Unwin Avenue and Cherry Street area, for an Assault in Progress of a large group of people. It is alleged that two men involved in the original altercation suffered injuries."

"They then left and returned with weapons. Officers arrived on scene and both men were arrested and charged accordingly. This investigation is on going and anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the escalation of events are asked to contact investigators at 416-808-5104."
