California Governor Gavin Newsom launched a new pro-abortion campaign across various states invoking the Bible as a rationalization for abortion and promoting the Golden State as safe haven for the procedure.

Newsom posted on Twitter Thursday to broadcast his ads, one of which read, "Need an abortion? California is ready to help. Learn more at abortion.ca.gov. 'Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater commandment than these.' - Mark 12:31."

The whole verse reads, "The second is, Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other command greater than these." This Bible verse from the Christian Standard Bible is paired with Mark 12:30, as the two articulate Christ's new covenant with believers.

Mark 12:30 reads, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength."

Newsom launched the ads as part of his reelection campaign and placed bilboords in Oklahoma, Texas, Indiana, Ohio, Mississippi, South Dakota, and South Carolina. All the billboards promoted his website which tells women how to get an abortion in California if they cannot in their home state.

Some of the ads featured a photo of a woman handcuffed, with the saying, "[State] doesn't own your body. You do." This billboard variation is displayed in South Dakota, Ohio, and Texas. Another variation of this billboard is being displayed in South Carolina and Indiana.

The billboard featuring Mark 12:31 will be seen in Oklahoma and Mississippi.

Under Newsom's leadership, California has faced a historic increase in crime, unprecedented homlessess, an energy crisis, and a loss of population as they flee to GOP led states.
