Gov. Greg Abbott is on a steadfast mission to defend the state of Texas from the invasion of illegal immigrants at the U.S. southern border.

Abbott announced that Texas has bussed tens of thousands of illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities, and plans to keep doing so "until Biden secures the border." This comes as the President's administration has allowed a historic number of illegal immigrants to invade the United States, which has desecrated border towns at the hands of Biden's open border policies.

The cities that have been receiving these illegal immigrants include Washington D.C., New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver, and Los Angeles.

Gov. Abbott boasted on X that Texas has sent "over 12,500 to DC, over 25,000 to New York City, over 20,000 to Chicago, over 3,200 to Philadelphia, over 7,400 to Denver, over 1,100 to Los Angeles."

"Our mission provides vital relief to border towns," Abbott said.

The latest shipment of illegal immigrants is bound to have a negative impact on these sanctuary cities. They have become overrun with invaders and Abbott's decision to bus them there is arguably a major contributor to it.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) has been calling on the Biden administration to take action at the southern border because the city can no longer keep up with the mass influx of illegal immigrants. Within the past year, Mayor Adams has declared a state of emergency over the crisis and has demanded legislators to pull the city's "sanctuary status."

Mayor Adams has been critical of the Biden administration's inaction to address the crisis and met with the administration at the White House this week to further the discussion. However, Adams left disappointed and said: "We did not walk out from DC with any level of optimism that anything is going to drastically change...Help is not on the way."

With Abbott's pending shipment of illegal immigrants from Texas, the Big Apple's crisis is only expected to get worse. Mayor Adams acknowledged that it is "clear" the illegal immigration crisis will be left up for individual cities to address.

Since President Biden took over the White House in 2021, the US-Mexico border has seen more than 6 million illegal crossings. More than 2 million illegal immigrants crossed into the United States within the past year alone.

The state of Texas has been hit hard, and Gov. Abbott has come up with clever ways to address the crisis on his own due to the Biden administration's refusal.

Abbott asserted that "Texas will defend our sovereignty to secure the border in President Biden's absence."

"From installing new border barriers, to deploying the Texas National Guard & Texas DPS, to our busing mission, Texas will protect our state from Biden's border crisis," the governor wrote on X.

Last week, Gov. Abbott announced he would be signing a bill that would make illegal immigration a state crime and thus grant police officers in every agency the power to arrest illegal immigrants.

Former President Donald Trump, who is the 2024 GOP presidential frontrunner, vowed to make border security a top priority if he were to take back the White House in 2025. In November, Gov. Abbott endorsed Trump for President.
