The husband of pro-life activist Bevelyn Beatty Williams said in a video posted to X Wednesday that the Biden-Harris administration has made him “a single father” after his wife reported to a federal prison in Alabama to begin serving a 41-month sentence for "unlawful assembly" or violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE Act). She was charged with participating in a pro-life protest at a New York City Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in June 2020, Live Action reported.

“I wanted to give you all an important update,” Bevelyn Williams wrote on Tuesday. “My legal team worked tirelessly to submit a stay of appeal so I could be home on bail while appealing this case for the sake of my daughter and husband. Unfortunately, the judge, who also sentenced me, denied the appeal. I have now been assigned a federal facility to report to and must surrender tomorrow at FCI Aliceville.” She could be out on bail after a month in prison if her attorneys are successful, Live Action noted.

Bevelyn Williams posted on X Wednesday: “Biden/Harris administration has made my husband a single father today. I am on my way to turn myself into federal prison where I am scheduled to serve three years in federal prison for unlawful assembly. Share this and make mothers and fathers of this nation aware of what's going on!”

In a video, her husband, Rickey Williams noted: “No American citizen should have to experience this in this country. Obama has the audacity to speak to black men and tell black men they need to vote for Kamala Harris when the Kamala Harris administration has separated me from my wife, and my wife from her daughter at two years old for unlawful assembly,” Rickey Williams said.

“But I want people to know in this country, mothers, fathers, single fathers, single mothers, that this cannot be tolerated, and you should not vote for Kamala," he added, later saying "The Biden-Harris Administration made me a single father."

According to Bevelyn Williams, the judge told her that she was a danger to the public and that’s why she refused the request to remain at home while the verdict and sentence were being appealed.

“So all of this about me being violent, all of this stuff like that, no, no. Don’t let the media play you. I’m going to jail and my category of offense is ‘unlawful assembly’. … I’m going to jail for three and a half years for unlawful assembly. I believe that speaks for itself,” she wrote, according to Live Action. Her charge sheet attests to the offense being unlawful assembly.

“The good news is, ministry doesn’t stop in jail. Did I want to go? Of course not. Do I want to go? No, I don’t. I don’t want to go. Cried about it a thousand times. I don’t even think I have enough tears to cry about it. I wanna be with my husband and my daughter, but that’s not happening right now,” Bevelyn wrote to her supporters, according to Live Action.

Williams was accused of blocking access to a lower Manhattan Planned Parenthood clinic, with US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams saying at the time, "Bevelyn Beatty Williams repeatedly intimidated and interfered with individuals seeking and providing critical reproductive health services.  She did so by physically blocking access to clinics, threatening staff, and by force."

The Department of Justice said that Williams "threatened and used force against patients and staff members at a reproductive health center located in lower Manhattan" on June 19 and 20, 2020, blocking patients and staff from entering. The pro-life activist was reportedly caught on camera pressing her body against the abortion clinic’s entrance for patients and when a staff member attempted to open the door, Williams leaned against the door and crush the staff member’s hand.

Manhattan Federal Court Judge Jennifer Rochon said in the sentencing hearing, "You cannot commit crimes even in the name of a religious cause. People were trying to give and get legal medical services." Williams had been found guilty by a jury on February 12.
