A suspect arrested after police found children chained to a bed in their mother's apartment is an illegal immigrant who has been previously deported, Border Hawk reported. Police went to the Fairfax Country residence when notified of potential child abuse on Aug. 15.
They could hear a “chain rattling” inside the home when the door was opened after officers knocked. They observed a chain “wrapped around a post next to a sleeping cot” in the living room, according to a report by Fox 5.
Two male children were discovered with gouges on their legs that were “consistent with the shape and size of the chain.” Police interviewed the other people domiciled at the apartment, including the boys’ mother, Wendi Del Cid Rodriguez, 47, and her boyfriend, Franklin Arquimedes Viera-Guevara, 29.
The duo reportedly confessed to chaining “the children up by the ankle for short periods of time to ‘scare them’ so they wouldn’t leave the apartment. They stated that they would not leave them alone in the house chained up.”
However, a third witness, a roommate, said that account was false because he said the couple routinely abandoned the boys “unsupervised and restrained” and they only let the kids loose when the couple was home.
One of the imprisoned boys borrowed the roommate’s smartphone to take a photo of their predicament which he sent to their sister. She called 911 and the police finally intervened.
Police arrested both Rodriguez and Viera-Guevara and charged them both with two counts of abduction, two counts of child neglect, and two counts of child cruelty.
Rodriguez was detained at Fairfax County Adult Detention Center before getting bail. Viera-Guevara remains imprisoned at the same facility but with no bail. According to Border Hawk, Viera-Guevara is an illegal alien from El Salvador who has been deported at least once.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed the status fo the prisoner in the following statement: “U.S. Border Patrol arrested Viera Nov. 1, 2018, after he unlawfully entered the United States near McAllen, Texas. Viera was processed for expedited removal and removed from the United States to El Salvador Feb. 1, 2019.”
“Viera unlawfully re-entered the United States on an unknown date, at an unknown location and without being inspected, admitted, or paroled by a U.S. immigration official.”
The Biden-Harris administration is reportedly continuing its practice of flying illegal aliens at the border to destinations across the United States. Some illegals are deported multiple times and commit serious crimes while in the country. An illegal immigrant in New York City just received a year less a day in jail time for kicking a NYPD officer.Powered by The Post Millennial CMS™ Comments
