The raid is part of an investigation that was ordered by FBI Director Kash Patel.
The opinion piece appeared in the Washington Examiner, where Bolton said that Trump's Ukraine policy is "incoherent," and that the policy is "no more coherent today than it was last Friday when his administration executed search warrants against my home and office."
Bolton wrote, "The administration has tried to camouflage its disarray behind social media posts, such as Trump comparing his finger-pointing at Russian President Vladimir Putin to then-Vice President Richard Nixon during the famous kitchen debate with Nikita Khrushchev," and added that past few weeks where Trump has held meetings with both Russian President as well as EU leaders and Volodymyr Zelensky, have had "several significant mistakes."
He went onto be critical of the speed at which Trump moved to have the meetings with the opposing sides in the Russia-Ukraine war, calling Trump's desire to schedule a meeting between Putin and Zelensky unrealistic, and went onto talk about other relations between Trump and other foreign nations.
This comes after Bolton said earlier in August that Trump does not deserve credit for other foreign policy successes, such as where the president said he helped facilitate the end of conflicts between India and Pakistan as well as Thailand and Cambodia.
The raid on Bolton's home has been connected to information that was collected by the CIA, first reported by Jack Posobiec. Bolton has previously been under investigation during the first Trump administration for classified information that was in his book, "The Room Where it Happened."
