John Deere will invest $20 billion into its US operations over the next ten years, according to CEO John May during the company’s second quarter 2025 earnings call. The announcement signals the company’s long-term focus on supporting domestic manufacturing, job creation, and local communities.

The investment package expands on previous financial commitments the company has made within the US, where it has operated since its founding in 1837.

"John Deere has helped build America since 1837 through US manufacturing, jobs, and community growth," the company stated. “This announcement reinforces the company’s ongoing commitment to strategic investments both for today and the future.”

The $20 billion initiative includes several large-scale projects in key locations. Among them is the construction of a new excavator plant in Kernersville, North Carolina, and the expansion of a turf equipment facility in Greeneville, Tennessee, according to AGDaily.

A 120,000-square-foot expansion is also planned for its remanufacturing center in Missouri. In Waterloo, Iowa, John Deere is adding new assembly lines for its 9RX high-horsepower tractor. Since 2019, John Deere has invested $2.5 billion into its US factories.

The broader economic impact of its operations in hometowns across the country is estimated at $25 billion. In 2025 alone, $100 million has been directed to American factories, while $80 billion in supplier-related investments have been made since 2019.

"This $20 billion commitment builds on the company’s long-standing legacy of economic impact and manufacturing in the U.S.," the statement added. The company operates 60 facilities across 16 states. Its workforce includes 30,000 John Deere employees based in the US and 50,000 more working at independent dealerships.

John Deere also emphasized its investment in communities. The John Deere Foundation has pledged $200 million by 2031 to support various local initiatives. The company has also placed 450 US military veterans in civilian roles.

"Through these efforts, John Deere continues to build strong local economies, expand career opportunities and support the people who build the country from the ground up," the statement added.
