Speaking to reporters on Monday ahead of boarding Air Force One, President Donald Trump said he would like to see Spencer Pratt "do well" in the Los Angeles mayoral race.

Trump told reporters, "I’d like to see him do well," referring to Pratt. Trump said he’s heard Pratt is a "big MAGA person," adding, "he’s doing well."

"You have a rigged vote out there," he continued, "that’s the problem. The votes are rigged. You have a really rigged vote in California. You have all the mail-in ballots, everything else, very hard to win. The elections are very dishonest. If we had Jesus Christ come down and count the votes, I would have won California, because I do great with Hispanics, but it’s a rigged vote."

One of the latest polls to come out of the race showed that Pratt gained 12 points between March and May, bringing him to 22 percent support. He still trails behind incumbent Mayor Karen Bass, however, with Bass receiving 30 percent support in May. Bass and fellow candidate Nithya Raman saw less of an increase between March and May, at 10 points.

In response to Trump’s comments, Raman quoted Trump, writing on social media, "I heard he’s a big MAGA person." Pratt replied with a gif of himself.

In April, it was revealed that Pratt had outpaced Bass in terms of fundraising. Between January 1 and April 18, Pratt had brought in around $540,000, while Bass brought in $495,000. The incumbent, however, had around $2.3 million in cash on hand at the time, per the Los Angeles Times.
