On Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris would not commit to doing a debate during the 2024 election against the Republican VP pick or comment on if President Joe Biden would debate Trump.

In an interview with NBC, Harris was asked if she would commit to debating the Republican vice presidential candidate. Harris said, "We just got through the State of the Union. And I’m just so excited about what we accomplished last night and our president."

When Harris was asked by Peter Alexander if President Biden would debate Donald Trump, the vice president said she hadn't talked to President Biden about it but discussed what it would look like.

"On the one hand, you’ve got Joe Biden, someone who is competent, who is principled, who has accomplished more than many presidents even hoped for," she claimed. "On the other side of that split screen, you’ve got the former president, who glorifies dictators and has said he’ll be a dictator on day one."

Someone who has said that he will weaponize the Department of Justice against his political enemies," she continued. "Someone who said he’s proud of the fact that he had picked three members of the United States Supreme Court, who took a constitutional right from the women of America to make decisions about their own body.”

On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump challenged President Biden to a debate "ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE!" He added in a post on Truth Social, "The Debates can be run by the Corrupt DNC, or their Subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD)."

Biden campaign communications director Michael Tyler told Fox News shortly after the post, "I know Donald Trump's thirst for attention and struggling to expand his appeal beyond the MAGA base—and that's a conversation we'll have at the appropriate time in this cycle."

Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley dropped out of the GOP presidential primary earlier this week. With the last major contender dropping out, it freed Donald Trump to focus on the rematch of the 2020 election.
