Kamala's 'allies' urge her not to speak to media: report

Amid criticism from Republicans as well as others in the media for not doing any long-form interviews since becoming the Democratic nominee for president, "allies" of Kamala Harris have reportedly urged her not to do so.

The revelation came in an article from the Wall Street Journal on her possible economic policies that reported, "Harris’s ascension to the top of the ticket has energized Democrats and some allies have cautioned against doing anything that could slow that momentum, including lengthy interviews with media outlets."



Economic advisors to the Harris campaign have also had concerns about her being too detailed in policy proposals, saying that she would possibly open herself up to attacks from Republicans and conservatives in the media. Harris has said she will do one interview before the end of the month, along with agreeing to one out of the three debates Trump has agreed to.

Some of the economic advisers on Harris' team include former Treasury Department official Brian Nelson; Mike Pyle, who is longtime Harris aide as well as Biden's former deputy national security adviser for world economics; Brian Deese, a former National Economic Council Director; Gene Sperling, a former Biden economic adviser; Deanne Millison, Harris’s former chief adviser on economics; Harris’s former domestic policy adviser, Rohini Kosoglu; and Grace Landrieu.

Harris has been accused of "flip-flopping" on several major issues, including border security as well as banning fracking. Harris compared the perception of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to the KKK in a Senate hearing in 2018. She has also suggested the abolition of the agency, saying that ICE needs to think about "starting from scratch."

Harris claimed recently that she will be tough on the border at her Nevada rally over the weekend, despite her years being appointed by the Biden administration as the reported "border czar" and has admitted to the immigration being broken under her administration.
