New York Attorney General Letitia James has launched a portal to collect photos and videos of Immigration and Customs (ICE) enforcement activity around the state of New York. The portal has been launched as other major Democratic politicians and activists have been moving to dox, prosecute, and arrest ICE agents.

“Every New Yorker has the right to live without fear or intimidation,” James said in a press release about the portal. “If you witnessed and documented ICE activity yesterday, I urge you to share that footage with my office. We are committed to reviewing these reports and assessing any violations of law. No one should be subject to unlawful questioning, detention, or intimidation.”

The portal asks those in New York to share photos as well as videos of ICE activity taking place in the Democrat-led state. The move follows the reported detention of four people in New York City earlier this week, who were US citizens and were released. At the same time, nine illegal immigrants were also detained.

Recently, the Trump administration has been cracking down on illegal immigration throughout the country in Democrat-led cities such as Portland, Chicago, and Washington, DC. In some of the same locations, Democratic politicians have said they plan to arrest and charge ICE agents if they break local laws in the state.

Earlier this week, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that California "may arrest federal agents if they break California law—and if they are convicted, the President cannot pardon them." Local laws in California include multiple sanctuary state codes, which interfere with ICE operations.

California has also passed a law to ban law enforcement from wearing masks. ICE agents have often used face coverings as there has been a high spike in crimes and doxxing targeting ICE officials since Trump came into office.

The Democrats in the House Oversight Committee have also proposed a “master ICE tracker,” which Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) said will be “essentially tracking every single instance that we can verify that the community will be able to send us information on.”
