Former Ontario Science Advisory table member and Ontario Liberal candidate Dr. Nathan Stall admitted to falsely accusing a Rebel News reporter of harassment.
Stall recounts an incident at a famers' market, where an "anti-vaxxer advocate" yelled at him. He said that in a "previous similar encounter," that individual had told him that he was an "investigative journalist." From Stall's statement, it appears as though he assumed that the woman worked for Rebel News, due to them running stories on Canadian physicians and advocates.
Stall would go on to tweet about the incident at the farmers' market, describing the woman as a "Rebel News reporter."
Stall says that he has since been informed by Rebel News that the woman was not a Rebel reporter, but instead had only been interviewed by the Rebel and featured in an article.
"The individual does not work for Rebel News, although they were featured by them..." wrote Stall.
Stall said that while he deleted the tweet, he still needed to "clear the record" as to avoid litigation from Rebel News.
"I falsely accused a Rebel News Reporter of harassing me at a farmer's market on January 15, 2022. This is not true. I retract my prior statement, and I apologize to Rebel News and all of its reporters for the false accusation," Stall wrote.
