A truck driver has had a close brush with death after his truck was severely hit by a freight train in Langley, British Columbia, unbelievably he survived.

The accident happened on Monday, at some time around 11 a.m. in the area near 98A Avenue and Telegraph Trail, according to Global News. An eyewitness managed to capture the collision on video.

The witness said the driver of the truck was attempting to turn across the tracks but got stuck when the crossing barriers came down, leaving the driver helpless. The video shows the driver attempting to escape from the vehicle amid the loud sound of the train's horn.

The driver appears to be unable to get out of the cab in time when the truck is struck by the train on the front passenger side, sending it clear off the tracks. The driver was taken to hospital by B.C. Emergency Health Services and has miraculously only sustained some minor injuries.

The collision is currently undergoing an investigation, according to a spokesperson from CN Rail, thus far, there have been no reports of injuries, fires or spills.
