President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance spoke to crowd at the 53rd March for Life in Washington, DC on Friday, where the president said that protecting the lives of the unborn is a "battle that must be fought" and "must be won."

"In 2026, as we celebrate 250 years since our founding fathers recognized the right to life in our Declaration of Independence, I want to thank every single one of you who was out on this winter day," Trump said in a pre-recorded message. He added that he was the first sitting president to attend the March for Life in person, and that the pro-life movement has won huge victories such as the overturning of Roe v Wade.

"This is a battle that must be fought, must be won, not only in the corridors of power, but above all, in the hearts and souls of the people," Trump said in a pre-recorded message. "That is why, under the Trump administration, we're strongly defending religious liberty. We're bringing back faith in America. We're bringing back God."

Trump also spoke about the Trump Accounts, which give $1,000 to children born between 2025 and 2028 to be invested. He touted the accounts as a win for American families.

Vance, who was able to attend in person at the event in DC, spoke about the deep value in having a family. The comments come on the heels of he and Second Lady Usha Vance announcing that they will be having a fourth child.

"Usha and I announced this week that we're expecting our 4th, and it will be our 3rd baby boy, so we'll take whatever prayers you can give — we certainly need them," Vance said.

While speaking to the audience, Vance also spoke about what the Trump administration has been able to deliver with the pro-life movement. "President Trump delivered, and his Supreme Court Justices delivered, the most important Supreme Court decision of my lifetime — because what the Dobbs decision did was put a definitive end to the tyranny of judicial rule on the question of human life," Vance added in his speech.

The president has recently planned to expand the Mexico City Policy, which prohibits the US from subsidizing abortion with foreign aid. The expansion would broaden the law to also include the funding of DEI programs abroad.
