House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told Fox News host Sean Hannity Monday night that the Biden family business dealings are “rising to the level of impeachment inquiry.”

McCarthy said “When President Biden was running for office, he told the American public that he's never talked about business. He said his family has never received a dollar from China, which now we prove is not true,” referencing previous statements in which the president claimed he did not talk to his son Hunter about the First Son’s business dealings.

The Speaker also discussed the two IRS whistleblowers who alleged during testimony that prosecutors slow-walked an investigation into Hunter Biden's alleged tax crimes as well as investigations by the House committee revealing that millions of dollars in foreign currency went through Biden family shell companies.

McCarthy told Hannity that “this is rising to the level of impeachment inquiry, which provides Congress the strongest power to get the rest of the knowledge and information needed.”

He added, “Because this president has also used something we have not seen since Richard Nixon: Use the weaponization of government to benefit his family and deny Congress the ability to have the oversight.”

McCarthy later added, “If they really ran it for foreign countries, why didn’t you get money from France, from Germany, from the UK? Why does it have to be China, Romania, these countries that have real challenges and had problems going through?”

“I believe we will follow this all the way to the end, and this is going to rise to an impeachment inquiry, the way the Constitution tells us to do this, and we have to get the answers to these questions.”

Following the interview, White House spokesperson for oversight and investigations Ian Sams said in a tweet, “Instead of focusing on the real issues Americans want us to address like continuing to lower inflation or create jobs, this is what the [House GOP] wants to prioritize. Their eagerness to go after [Biden] regardless of the truth is seemingly bottomless.”

The interview came only days after Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) released an FBI form alleging corruption stemming from Hunter Biden’s work with Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

On Monday, it was revealed that former Hunter Biden business associate Devon Archer plans to tell the House Oversight and Reform Committee that the First Son would put then-Vice President Biden on speakerphone during meetings with foreign business partners.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre continued to tell White House reporters following the announcement that Joe Biden was never in business with his son.
