The New York Times has admitted that the Biden-Harris administration is responsible for the most massive “immigration surge” in US history and that more than half of those who entered the US since 2021 have done so illegally.

“The immigration surge since 2021 has been the largest in US history, surpassing even the levels of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Total net migration — the number of people coming to the country minus the number leaving — will likely exceed eight million people over the past four years, government statistics suggest,” senior Times writer David Leonhardt noted Wednesday.

The Times used data from the Census Bureau and the Congressional Budget Office to tabulate its results and acknowledged that even during the peak years of mass migration to the US via Ellis Island, today’s numbers surpass those of that era. The article also confirmed that a record number of people living in the US were born in another country. It’s 15.2 percent today and was 14.8 percent in 1890.

The reason for the mass immigration is entirely due to “President [Joe] Biden’s welcoming immigration policy … During his 2020 campaign, Biden encouraged more people to come to the US, and he loosened several policies after taking office,” Leonhardt wrote, dismissing Biden administration claims that “outside events, such as the turmoil in Haiti, Ukraine and Venezuela, have been the main cause of the surge.”

Nearly two-thirds of the immigration was also illegal. The Times acknowledged that “[o]f the roughly eight million net migrants who came to the US over the past four years, about five million — or 62 percent — were unauthorized, according to an estimate by Goldman Sachs.”

The article did not mention that Biden also allowed over 13,000 convicted murderers and 15,000 convicted of sexual assault among those illegals. The total number of criminal illegal aliens admitted to the US was pegged at 435,719 earlier this year while the number of deportations of illegals dropped 74 percent under Biden-Harris.

The Times suggested that immigration concerns really did play “such a big role in the 2024 election,” while acknowledging that mass immigration was not popular with voters while 59 percent of them supported mass deportations. While Leonhardt admitted that working-class Americans were very worried about how mass immigration would affect their country or worsen their job prospects, he stated that the policy was “Kamala Harris’s second biggest vulnerability, after only the economy. Donald Trump made striking gains near the border in Texas, winning six counties along the Rio Grande that he lost badly only eight years ago. And Democrats who outpaced Harris and won tough congressional races — in Arizona, Michigan, Ohio, New York and elsewhere — often criticized Biden’s immigration policies.”

The article ended by noting that the “recent immigration surge has probably ended,” thanks to the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump who has appointed a border czar in Tom Homan. Homan is actively explaining how deportations of illegal immigrants will take place and has put US mayors and governors on notice that he doesn’t intend to let their apathy or opposition impede his work.
