Ben & Jerry’s SLAMMED on 4th of July after SHAMING America for ‘existing on stolen land’

Ben and Jerry's got destroyed on Twitter over their Independence Day message claiming that the US should give back our land to the indigenous people who were here before us, or maybe to the indigenous people who were here before them. It's not entirely clear, but what was apparent was that the Twitterati were having none of it, and it made their woke sentiment absolutely laughable if it wasn't already incredibly stupid and pandering.
"This 4th of July, it's high time we recognize that the US exists on stolen Indigenous land and commit to returning it. Learn more and take action now," they said, linking to the Vermont ice cream company's website.

Ben and Jerry's, which also opposes Israel's sovereignty, suggested the US start by giving back Mount Rushmore in South Dakota's Black Hills. Notably, they did not start with Vermont where the Algonquin-speaking Abenaki lived as part of the Wabanaki Confederacy. Their myths and legends were collected by white anthropologists in the 1800s, and otherwise would have been lost forever.
But Ben and Jerry's probably isn't ready to give up their own land, so instead they focus on South Dakota for the first give-back. And for sure, there have been issues there, while in Vermont there would be hardly any Abenaki left to give the land back to anyway.
The US government broke treaties with the The Great Sioux Nation, "as the tribes in the area were collectively known," Ben and Jerry's states, even though we're not supposed to use the word "tribe" anymore. Activists occupied Mount Rushmore, and a suit was brought to the highest court awarding them $105 million in damages. The tribe didn't take it back in 1970, because back in 1970 activists had principles that they valued more than money. This is something Ben and Jerry's obviously aspires to.
"The Indigenous-led Land Back movement," the ice cream company tells us, "is all about restoring the rights and freedoms of Indigenous people. It’s about dismantling white supremacy and systems of oppression and ensuring that Indigenous people can again govern the land their communities called home for thousands of years."
Twitter users lashed out.

Target has also funded this propaganda about closing Mount Rushmore, with a group they funded calling it "an international symbol of white supremacy." The Biden administration went so far as to cancel the fireworks display scheduled for Mount Rushmore, saying that fireworks have an "adverse effect" on local tribes. Trump had reinstated the display in the National Park during his presidency.
The Democrat Party said at the time in a tweet they later deleted that "Trump has disrespected Native communities time and again. He's attempted to limit their voting rights and blocked critical pandemic relief. Now he's holding a rally glorifying white supremacy at Mount Rushmore—a region once sacred to tribal communities."

These wokesters, panderers and propagandists respect and value every culture but their own, the ones that spawned them, protected their natural rights, and made their way of life and corporate entrepreneurship possible. There's no reason on earth for a nation to heed the words of citizens who hate themselves and their country, even if they do make a fine cookie dough.
