The $200 million weapons package could be announced this week.

President Joe Biden's administration will announce a $200 million weapons package for Ukraine as soon as this week. The package is part of the "accounting error" of $6.2 billion that the Pentagon.
In June, the Pentagon explained that there were two accounting errors amounting to $6.2 billion in additional funding to Ukraine.

The error has resulted in more funding going to Ukraine than anticipated and included in the funds is a $200 million weapons package that could be announced this week, according to Reuters.
More equipment can be sent as a result of the error and the $200 million package will be the first of the promised additional $6.2 billion to be going in aid to Ukraine.
Included in the package, as reported by Reuters, will be weaponry such as mine clearing equipment, AT4 anti-tanks weapons, guns and ammunition, and air defense interceptors.
The weaponry comes from the arms company Lockheed Martin Corp. In addition, rockets and javelin anti-tank missiles - made jointly between Lockheed Martin and RTX Corp - are planned on being sent.
During late June, the Biden administration announced the delivery of a weapons package worth $500 million and had similar equipment announced in the package.
In a press release at the time, the announcement was the 41st drawdown of aid to Ukraine. The air equipment included munitions for the Patriot air defense system, stinger aircraft and high mobility artillery rocket systems.
More ground-oriented weaponry included mine-clearing equipment, Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles (tanks), and others.
Biden first announced he would send tanks into Ukraine in January of 2023 and the year before he had suggested that "offensive equipment" such as "planes and tanks and trains going in with American pilots and American crews" would lead to World War III.

Although the tanks are not being manned with American soldiers, the Biden administration has broken other promises and has sent in tanks as well as other offensive equipment as aid to Ukraine.
For example, Biden, when asked if he would send F-16 fighter jets into Ukraine, replied, "No."
With what's left in the accounting error and doors already open to send more offensive weaponry, Ukraine will keep up the fight against Russia.
