BLM gets roasted for Thanksgiving message condemning ‘stolen land’

The statement was in line with many leftists pundits and media outlets attempting to equate the holiday with genocide and white supremacy.

The tweets were ratioed hard with many calling out the founders of BLM, such as Patrisse Kahn-Cullors, who bought multiple million dollar homes in high-end neighborhoods and then erected walls and fences to protect them.

Cullors brought property near Malibu, which is believed to have been home to the Chumash and the Tongva people. This civilization was tens of thousands of people strong, and they occupied a 7,000 square mile territory. Chumash means "seashell people," and they were reliant on the ocean for sustenance. The Tongva had a similar lifestyle, and were known for their boat building techniques.

Both of these groups were wiped out by the Spanish settlers and their mission system. Descendants of those tribes continue to advocate for recognition of their heritage, culture and language.

It is on this land that BLM c-founder Cullors purchased and fenced off her homestead.

The finances of the national BLM organization have repeatedly come under fire as chapters claim to have received next to nothing from the over $90 million raised in 2020 following the death of George Floyd.

As riots broke out across the country, corporations and individuals forked over millions of dollars to the organization and Cullors went on a real estate buying binge. The self described Marxist purchased four high-end homes for $3.2 million in the US alone.

She was also shopping for homes in the Bahamas and for other luxury homes priced between $5 million and $20 million.

Black Lives Matter of Greater New York City called for “an independent investigation” to find out where the national organization spent their fundraised money.

Many have accused Cullors and the other BLM founders of fraud. After Cullors’s real estate buying binge became public, she resigned from the organization.
