View on RumbleRoske was reported to have been carrying a gun and a knife, as well as burglary tools, and allegedly said that he "wanted to kill" Kavanaugh, one of the court's conservative-leaning justices.
According to an FBI affidavit, Roske was carrying a suitcase armed with a Glock-17 pistol, two magazine clips, a speed loader, a tactical knife, pepper spray, zip ties, a hammer, screwdriver, nail punch and a crowbar.
After flying from California to Washington D.C., Roske drove to Kavanaugh's home with the sole intent to "kill Kavanaugh" and then himself, court documents show. Roske called 911 detailing the threats which led to his arrest.
Speaking with detectives at the Montgomery County Police Department Second District Precinct, Roske said that "he was upset about the leak of a recent Supreme Court draft decision regarding the right to abortion as well as the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas," the affidavit stated.
"Roske stated that he began thinking about how to give his life a purpose and decided that he would kill the Supreme Court Justice," according to the affidavit.
If convicted, Roske faces a maximum sentence to life in prison. His trial is set to begin on August 23.
