‘Trans’ clinic headed by ‘yeet the teets’ surgeon responds to backlash following FTC complaint

Dr. Sidhbh Gallagher said her mission is to amplify transgender voices and celebrate transgender lives, the Daily Mail reports.

This follows a complaint made to the Federal Trade Commission about Gallagher, a celebrity "gender-affirming" surgeon who calls herself Dr. Teetus Deletus, in reference to the double mastectomies she performs on females who wish to appear more male.

Gallagher Plastic Surgery in Miami, and Gallagher in particular, is accused of using her huge social media following to "unfairly and deceptively" sell her surgical services to vulnerable and impressionable young people.

"As a practice that serves the transgender and non-binary community, it is not uncommon for us to be the target of attacks and complaints," the clinic said in a statement to the Daily Mail, in which they added that the FTC did not appear to be pursuing the complaint.

"The mission of our social media is to amplify transgender voices, celebrate transgender lives and most importantly to provide education that empowers our patients to navigate the complex process of surgical transition," the clinic's statement continued.

By "education" the clinic is referring to their downplaying the seriousness of bilateral mastectomies, for which Gallagher uses the phrase "yeet the teets," and suggesting that any sadness felt post-surgery is "temporary."

This ignores the experiences of a growing number of detransitioned young women for whom the sad feeling did not disappear and who now face a lifetime of regret for a decision they made when young and in desperate need of psychological help.

The complaint to the FTC was filed by five organizations and is led by Genspect, an international alliance seeking better care for those who suffer from gender dysphoria.

Gallagher is accused of using catchy videos with pop music backing tracks to market procedures such as breast removal and penis amputations to "vulnerable and impressionable" minors via social media.

The complaint states that Gallagher has released thousands of videos advertising her "gender-affirming" plastic surgeries to children and teens in a bid to "convert them into her patients" and that these videos "glamorize, romanticize and valorize medical gender transition," reported the Daily Mail.

"To induce young followers to use her services, Gallagher's video marketing spots misrepresent the removal of healthy breasts as medically necessary, proven quick, effective, and safe … while omitting their real physical and psychological risks," the complaint went on.

Genspect also objects to Gallagher's use of the slang term "yeet the teets" when talking about the bilateral mastectomies she performs, and her habit of referring to herself as Dr. Teetus Deletus. Gallagher says she performs between 400-500 of these surgeries each year and told the New York Times recently that she performed 13 on minors last year.

Gallagher has described these surgeries as life-saving, claiming that without access to such procedures, young people suffering from gender dysphoria will commit suicide. However, this claim relies on poor-quality evidence and has been thoroughly debunked.
