Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, joined Chris Cuomo on CNN to make the claim that Fox News and conservative parents who oppose the teaching of critical race theory, or as Joy Reid calls it, "race conscious education," want to "erase what has happened in our history."
Weingarten alleged that the goal is to ban slavery being taught in schools, as well as the study of the 13-15th amendments of the constitution, an interesting allegation since this curriculum is already taught in public schools throughout the nation prior to the implementation of critical race theory indoctrination.

"What's happening now," Weingarten said, "is that in this push to try to erase what has happened in our history, it is chilling teachers from teaching the fact that we did have slavery. It was uncomfortable. We need to get through it. We need kids to be able to think critically about it and to engage and understand it, and get better as a result of it."
"It is the American experiment that we are trying to teach as school teachers," she said, "both the good and the ugly, but the change that we've seen, including having our first African American president and our first African American vice president."
Cuomo also falsely reported that critical race theory is a "boogeyman" that is not being taught in K-12 schools despite the nation's largest teachers union and Democratic officials mandating the objectively racist and anti-American curriculum to be taught in public schools.
"Critical race theory, this boogeyman, is just the new front on the culture war," Chris Cuomo said. "It's a boogeyman. It's not even taught in most K through 12 schools," Cuomo stated, an obvious lie that can easily be proven with extensive evidence and documentation.
"Suddenly it's like the biggest thing that's going on in the country when it comes to our kids in schooling," Cuomo said as he slammed conservatives for their apparent "fake outrage" over the curriculum that teaches children the United States is a nation founded on white supremacy and oppression, and that these forces are still at the root of our society.
