The United States officially classified Hamas as a terrorist organization in 1997.
Osama Siblani, an Arab American News Publisher, told the crowd that "Hamas is not a terrorist organization," to which the crowd responded with cheers. He added that "the terrorist is Benjamin Netanyahu and his government." According to Click on Detroit, more than 1,200 people attended the rally.
"No justice, no peace," the crowd chanted in the packed theater as they waved Palestinian flags in the air.
"Free, free Palestine," they cried out.
Towards the end of the video clip, a young boy takes over the microphone and chants, "Not another nickel, not another dime, no more money for Israel's crimes."
Following the chants and applause for the Hamas terrorists that ruthlessly executed Israeli men, women, and children, which included killing babies and burning children alive, the speaker took to the microphone to denounce claims that Hamas is a terrorist group.
"We have to put things into perspective," he said. "We are not going to [sic] stay silent when they say 'Hamas is a terrorist organization.' The fact it is not a terrorist organization."
After the speaker made the claims, the crowd erupted in applause, video shows.
Rep Tim Walberg of Michigan wrote on X in response to the rally, "The rhetoric displayed and timing of the rally in Dearborn last night was vile and indefensible. At least 22 Americans are dead, and more are being held hostage by a terrorist organization."
The United States officially classified Hamas as a terrorist organization in 1997. The European Union and other Western countries such as Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Australia, have also classified Hamas as a terrorist entity, according to AP.
While the pro-Hamas community in Dearborn, Michigan rallied to support the terrorist attacks on Israel, American citizens are among those who have been murdered by the terrorist group in the attacks and the Biden administration said Americans are believed to be held hostage in Gaza. Reports indicate that 22 Americans have been killed by Hamas, so far, with at least 17 still missing.
This comes as Hamas invaded Israel at daybreak on Saturday, entering the country by land, sea, and air and killing around 1,000 people. Hostages were taken, with Hamas declaring it would kill one hostage for every air strike that Israel launches into Gaza. The United States and its allies have pledged unwavering commitment to Israel and told the Jewish nation that they stand ready to assist in their efforts against Hamas and other enemy entities.

That would have been a good time and place for an 'errant bomb' to have been delivered.
