TIME Magazine owner Marc Benioff has slammed Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris for refusing interview requests with his media outlet. The magazine that was once a powerhouse of influential journalism under Henry Luce, even published a flattering cover of Harris when she was pronounced the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden was pushed out of the presidential race.

“Despite multiple requests, TIME has not been granted an interview with Kamala Harris — unlike every other Presidential candidate,” Benioff said on X. "We believe in transparency and publish each interview in full. Why isn’t the Vice President engaging with the public on the same level?"

“Harris declined repeated requests for an interview for this story. In contrast, Trump talked about his policy vision with a TIME reporter for 90 minutes across two interviews. Biden spoke to TIME at similar length before dropping out of the race,” Benioff added in a follow-up post.

TIME published an online article Friday about Harris but it lacked any of the vice president’s observations about life and politics. “When she does do interviews, she mostly favors local media, culture podcasts, or friendly talk shows,” TIME journalist Charlotte wrote in her story, all the while reminding readers that Harris had avoided doing the interview.

While eschewing serious news interviews, especially when done alone, Harris has agreed to do an interview with Fox News host Brett Baier on Wednesday. But she is usually more at home on “The View,” the raunchy “Call Her Daddy” podcast, “The Howard Stern Show,” as well as “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” When she ventured into an interview with CBS for 60 Minutes, the result was disastrous.

Recent polling indicates that Harris’ campaign is not performing as well as they have during her "honeymoon" period as her numbers are dropping in key battleground states.
