John Matze, the CEO of the controversial social media company Parler, told Mark Levin in a live interview on Sunday night that he wasn't aware of how "deadly serious" the threats to take Parler to task for its lax moderation were.
Parler has recently been pulled from both the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store, and then the next day, Amazon also booted them from their cloud servers.
According to Fox News, Matze said the following in the course of the interview on "Life, Liberty and Levin":
"It's very, very interesting that they all, on the exact same day without previously indicating, they never indicated to us that there was any serious or material problem with our app. But on the same day, you know, all on the same day, they send us these very threatening notices.
"So we said, 'OK, let's call this. Let's see what you know, let's see what Google said. Oh, they actually never emailed us and we have no way to contact them.' OK, so Google is out. Apple ... we called our rep, and they basically shrugged it off and made no indication that this was deadly serious, despite ... their email being very serious."
"And Amazon, as usual, [was] basically saying, 'Oh, I never saw any material problems. There's no issues.' You know, they were played it off very nonchalantly. And so we had still even, you know, on the 8th and the 9th, you know, we had no real indication that this was, you know, deadly serious."
Parler is in the process of suing Amazon for being kicked off their servers in such a summary manner, claiming they broke antitrust laws in doing so.
Amazon, in turn, claims that they had repeatedly warned Parler that the content on their site was in violation of Amazon's terms of service, and that the warnings were ignored by Parler.
