Details are emerging about 42-year-old David DePape, the man who allegely broke into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco home early Friday morning and violently assaulted her husband Paul with a hammer, leaving him with a skull fracture.

These details include a history of activism for left-wing ideology and nudist causes. NBC Bay Area Reporter Jaxon Van Derbeken wrote on Friday, "FBI visits Berkeley home tied to Pelosi beating suspect. The Victorian is dubbed a 'hippie collective' by neighbors."

The Post Millennial Editor-at-Large Andy Ngo discussed the home, saying: "'Black lives matter' and other left-wing signs or symbols line the outside of the hippie Berkeley, Calif. commune of where the Pelosi beating suspect lived."

According to the Associated Press, DePape grew up in Powell River, British Columbia who moved to Berkeley, California with his girlfriend roughly 20 years ago. DePape's stepfather, Gene, said his girlfriend was Gypsy Taub with whom he has two children, and David DePape has one other child with a different woman.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, "DePape closely associated with the high-profile nudist Gypsy Taub, a 9/11 denier who disrobed during a hearing inside City Hall. DePape lived with Taub, her three children and her fiance, Jaymz Smith, in a three-bedroom Victorian flat in Berkeley, where he made hemp jewelry and was considered by some to be a 'father figure.'"

One Twitter user captured a hot mic moment from Friday's press conference with the San Francisco Police where an unidentified reporter is overheard speaking to his boss and apparently being told to ignore DePape's nudist activist past.

In recent years DePape's online presence grew erratic and according to Fox News, he wrote blogs focusing on censorship, "Big Brother," and pedophile rings. DePape's last political party affiliation was with the Green Party.

The AP claims that DePape pushed QAnon rhetoric online and engaged in anti-Semitism, suggesting the Jews motivated the Russians to invade Ukraine.

San Francisco Police Chief William Scott gave an update Friday and said that during the incident, "Our officers observed Mr Pelosi and the suspect both holding a hammer. The suspect pulled the hammer away from Mr Pelosi and violently assaulted him with it. Our officers immediately tackled the suspect, disarmed him, took him into custody."

Pelosi was taken to a nearby hospital with a skull fracture but is expected to make a full recovery.

According to the Hill, DePape yelled "Where is Nancy? Where is Nancy?"

"Mr. DePape will be booked at San Francisco County jail on the following charges," Chief Scott said. "Attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, burglary and several other additional felonies."

This has been a rough year for 82-years-old Pelosi, who was charged with a DUI after crashing his car. He pled not guilty to those charges.
