Pedestrian dead after having been hit by train in Milton, Ontario

On Saturday morning at approximately 1:30am, in the municipality of Milton, Ontario, a woman lost her life after being hit by a passing train.

On Saturday morning at approximately 1:30 am, in the municipality of Milton, Ontario, a woman lost her life after being hit by a passing train.

The deceased pedestrian will remain anonymous, but has been identified as hailing from Oakville Ontario, and was 42 years old.

According to CTV News Toronto, first responders confirmed that the woman had been struck and killed by a westbound freight train in the area of Bronte Street North and Steeles avenue.

Initially, Halton Police responded to the scene. However, once the fatality was verified, the collision reconstruction unit was called in in order to further ascertain the facts and circumstances of the unnamed woman's death.

CP Rail, the company who's train was involved in the incident, also sent their own officers to assist with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing, and more details about this may be released as the case develops.
