Portland police have arrested a man wearing a “Freedom” Charlie Kirk memorial t-shirt who was seen defending himself during a brawl with an attacker outside the city’s ICE facility one night prior.

A fight broke out earlier this week outside the facility when a bald, left-wing protester wearing black clothing and yellow-and-black shorts approached a man in a Charlie Kirk “Freedom” shirt and kicked him. The conservative man fought back, leading to a brief fist fight as Antifa agitators shouted insults. Federal officers quickly intervened, appearing to detain the attacker and escort the conservative man away.

However, video footage posted on X Friday night by Nick Shirley showed police arresting the man in the “Freedom” shirt as well.

“The cops are grabbing him,” someone is heard saying. “Why are they grabbing him?”

The Portland ICE facility has been the center of violent protests by Antifa members for months. The site has been repeatedly targeted since June, with tensions escalating after President Donald Trump designated Antifa as a terrorist group.

President Trump has vowed to send the National Guard to protect federal law enforcement and property in the city. Local Democrats have opposed the use of federal agents, with Portland Mayor Keith Wilson condemning the Trump administration’s efforts to address violent crime in Portland.

The ongoing unrest at the facility has led to several high-profile incidents. On Thursday night, conservative journalist Nick Sortor was arrested following an altercation with an Antifa agitator and charged with disorderly conduct. Earlier in the week, police declined to arrest a woman accused of attacking The Post Millennial reporter Katie Daviscourt, who suffered a concussion and eye hemorrhage from the assault.
