On Thursday night outside of Portland's ICE facility, conservative journalist Nick Sortor was arrested after getting into an altercation with an Antifa agitator protesting law enforcement. The Post Millennial reporter Katie Daviscourt said he had been "targeted by Antifa" shortly before.

He was charged with disorderly conduct and booked into the MCDC by the Portland Police. Daviscourt said that he was to be held overnight and released from custody around 8 am.

He was released on Friday morning and spoke to Fox News' Bill Melugin, who relayed Sortor's message that "he was getting video of protesters getting maced by federal agents, which was embarrassing video for them as they were 'crying' etc.

"He says they then swarmed/surrounded him, pushed him down into a flower bed, and someone threw a punch. Nick says he swung back and missed, then disengaged and walked over to a group of Portland PD. He says he was then shocked to be arrested by them, and he sat in the back of a police cruiser while officers figured out what to charge him with."

On Tuesday night, Portland Police declined to arrest the woman who assaulted Daviscourt, even after she was able to lead an officer to the assailant. Daviscourt suffered a concussion and an eye hemorrhage in the attack.

Sortor had been reporting from outside the facility, where protests and violence have been a nightly occurrence since June. He captured footage of ICE supporters who arrived at the facility with their banner, reading "Thank you for your dedication and hard work! We appreciate you."

Anti-ICE protesters shouted, "Count the days you're alive, bitch, you're marked," to those with the banner.

He also documented an Antifa protester who broke free of the line and stepped onto federal property. Federal agents immediately grabbed the agitator and threw them out into the street where the individual was promptly arrested and carried inside.

C.K. Bouferrache captured moments on video where Sortor was "jumped" by local anti-ICE thugs. Sortor was the one who was arrested.

There was another fight outside the facility as well, when a leftist bald man in black with yellow and black shorts approached a man wearing a Charlie Kirk "freedom" shirt and kicked him. As Antifa shouted insults at the conservative man, federal officers intervened and arrested the attacker. They led the other man away.

Portland's ICE facility has been targeted by Antifa militants since June and Daviscourt has been covering the mayhem up close. After President Donald Trump designated Antifa as a terrorist group, tensions have escalated.

Trump also vowed to send the National Guard into the area in order to protect federal law enforcement and federal property. ICE agents have been enforcing immigration law in the city, which Antifa, Democrats and other leftists view as problematic.

Local Democrat officials have opposed both the enforcement of federal immigration law and the use of federal agents to protect those attempting to enforce the law in Portland. Portland Mayor Keith Wilson has teamed up with other Oregon mayors to expressly denounce the Trump administration from carrying out the law.

The letter reads: "As regional leaders, we commit to pursuing all legal and legislative options to counter this unprecedented, unnecessary, and unwanted effort to utilize militarized forces in a manner that could violate the constitutional rights of our community.

"We will use all legal tools at our disposal to deny our jurisdictions' personnel, equipment, facilities, and resources from any participation or support of militarized federal actions that target the civil rights of our community, including that of assembly, free expression, or protest, unless directly required by local, state, or federal law."

Stats from the Portland FBI show 1 arrest, 27 active and pending investigations, and that they have made 128 arrests since June 9.

They state that they will "continue to actively investigate instances of violence, trespass, and damage to federal property at the ICE facility in Portland. The latest suspect was charged for assaulting a federal officer, a felony, on Sept. 30, 2025. The FBI and our partners will hold people accountable for their violent actions."
