Congressman Brandon Gill (R-Texas) has introduced articles of impeachment against Judge James Boasberg of the US District Court for the District of Columbia. The resolution accuses Boasberg of abusing his judicial authority by approving "frivolous" subpoenas and nondisclosure orders in the "Arctic Frost" investigation, which targeted Republican lawmakers critical of the Biden administration at the direction of Special Counsel Jack Smith.

"Chief Judge Boasberg has compromised the impartiality of the judiciary and created a constitutional crisis," Rep. Gill told Fox News on Tuesday. "He is shamelessly weaponizing his power against his political opponents, including Republican members of Congress who are faithfully serving the American people within their jurisdiction."

Gill continued, "Judge Boasberg was an accomplice in the egregious Arctic Frost scandal, where he equipped the Biden DOJ to spy on Republican senators. His lack of integrity makes him clearly unfit for the gavel. I am proud to once again introduce articles of impeachment against Judge Boasberg to hold him accountable for his high crimes and misdemeanors."

This comes shortly after the Department of Justice (DOJ) launched an investigation into "Arctic Frost," a Biden-era FBI investigation into alleged 2020 election interference. It was recently revealed that the FBI selectively targeted over 100 GOP groups, including Turning Point USA, as well as more than 160 Republicans, many of whom were and/or remain involved with the Trump administration.

Boasberg is accused of approving secret subpoenas for cell phone records of at least 10 Republican senators, including Ted Cruz, and one House member, as part of the Arctic Frost investigation. Prosecutors reportedly sought these records to trace communications related to foreign influence operations targeting US elections. Boasberg is alleged to have signed off on "frivolous nondisclosure orders" that concealed the surveillance from the affected lawmakers, violating separation of powers and enabling the DOJ to "spy on Republicans," as stated in the filing.

Brandon Gill looks like Superman in that picture. Very fitting indeed.
