Banks wrote to Posobiec that his name "appears on a list of individuals and groups 'in the US impeding aid to Ukraine' published by a Ukrainian non-governmental organization called the Data Journalism Agency, which has worked" with USAID.
On Tuesday, Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec revealed that he had been contacted by Rep. Jim Banks (IN), who informed him that he was found on a list of US individuals that a non-governmental organization in Ukraine alleges are helping impede aid to the Eastern European country.
Banks wrote to Posobiec in the Tuesday letter that his name "appears on a list of individuals and groups 'in the US impeding aid to Ukraine' published by a Ukrainian non-governmental organization (NGO) called the Data Journalism Agency (TEXTY), which has worked with the US Department of State and the US Agency for International Development (USAID)."
"As you may be aware, other Ukrainian NGOs have published similar lists, which have published the personal information of those named in apparent attempts to intimidate them," Banks added.
Posobiec noted on X that he had previously been placed on a list published by Myrotvorets. According to the Department of State, Myrotvorets "allegedly has links to the Interior Ministry" in Ukraine, and publishes names and personal information of journalists around the world they claim are working in "collaboration with terrorists."
Banks told Posobiec that he sent a letter to Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole (Oklahoma) and State and Foreign Operations Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Mario Diaz Balart (Florida) "urging them to stop the State Department and USAID from partnering with any actors overseas who encourage the harassment of Americans."
Banks added that the Appropriations Committee is holding a markup on Wednesday on its bill to fund the State Department and USAID for fiscal year 2025.
Posobiec has been outspoken about the conflict in Ukraine and the billions of dollars going to the Eastern European country. In a May episode of Human Events Daily, Posobiec called out Ukraine’s corruption after it was revealed that millions of dollars of funds that were intended to aid Ukraine's northern border defense were diverted into fake companies, causing fortifications to never be built and Russia to launch a northern Ukraine offensive.
"So the question is, where are the defensive fortifications like the Russians had at the Surovikin line during the counter-offensive of last summer?" Posobiec stated. "Where are those dug-in defenses? What, you've just got a couple of guys there with shovels or something digging trenches?"
He continued: "Where's all the money? Where's the 100 billion dollars, the 61 billion supplemental which was just sent? Where did it all go? Where were the minefields? Where were the entrenchments? Where were the concrete barriers?"
Posobiec later added that "It's very clear what's going on. This is and has always been one of the most corrupt countries in Europe. This is one of the reasons, by the way, that they were not given admission to the European Union for all of these years and have still not been given an invitation to the European Union."
