REVEALED: Jack Smith wanted addresses of Americans who bought MAGA hats—then he issued subpoenas to get them

"Jack Smith’s SCO and Biden’s Justice Department obtained information on sales of red MAGA hats, including individual buyers, their purchases and their shipping addresses for home delivery."

"Jack Smith’s SCO and Biden’s Justice Department obtained information on sales of red MAGA hats, including individual buyers, their purchases and their shipping addresses for home delivery."

It has been revealed that former Special Counsel Jack Smith had his team obtain addresses, names, and other personal information of people who simply bought "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) hats during his investigations into President Donald Trump, according to information obtained by Republican Senator Chuck Grassley. This comes as lawmakers have been looking into how Smith conducted himself in his investigation into President Trump.

A memo released by the Iowa Republican stated that documents obtained by his office "show that Jack Smith’s SCO and Biden’s Justice Department obtained information on sales of red MAGA hats, including individual buyers, their purchases and their shipping addresses for home delivery. This is in addition to collecting a catalogue of Trump campaign products including these red hats, t-shirts, mugs, and door mats. This further illustrates the extensive scope of irrelevant and personally invasive records obtained by Smith which were shared with FBI agents."

Grassley has brought to light a number of different details regarding Smith's "Arctic Frost" investigation into Trump, including that Republicans' personal voter data as well as donation information were obtained by Smith and his team through subpoenas. The memo added, "Jack Smith’s SCO and Biden’s Justice Department obtained spreadsheets containing Republican campaign donors, supporters, and detailed personal voter information in various formats, totaling over 639,000 individuals, at minimum. Out of those, over 148,000 rows are identified in the spreadsheets as donors."

The data included birth dates, names, addresses, voter registration, donation amounts (even as low as $1), credit card information, individuals' place of employment, email addresses, and other extremely personal information. The information included those who were Republican campaign personnel and may have included campaign volunteers.

Grassley said that the gathering of the information was "well outside Smith’s scope of purported review and further corroborating that the Special Counsel operation was designed to map out the Republican Party."

The lawmaker said of the memo: “This update shows that Jack Smith and the Biden Justice Department collected incredibly invasive donor data – and voter data – beyond what could conceivably be necessary for Smith or his team to fulfill the Special Counsel’s mandate. The new findings further corroborate that Smith and his partisan team aimed to map out the entire Republican Party apparatus. I again call on my Democratic colleagues to join my oversight work instead of trying to defend Smith and sweep his abuse of authority under the rug.”
