Trans-identified male convicted of raping friend with ‘her penis’ just weeks after completing prison term for rape of teenage girl

Crawford, 24, claimed not to remember the incident due to suffering from blackouts.

A trans-identified male sex offender has been convicted of raping a friend with "her penis" just weeks after being released from prison for the rape of a teenage girl.

Lexi-Rose Crawford began identifying as a woman after being released from prison in January 2019, after serving a four-year prison term for raping an underage girl Crawford had met online, and within weeks had committed another rape, this time of a vulnerable friend, reports the Daily Mail.

Crawford, 24, claimed not to remember the incident due to suffering from blackouts, but the jurors at Bristol Crown Court convicted the serial sex offender after just two hours of deliberations.

The former volunteer guitar technician reportedly stared ahead blankly while the guilty verdicts to rape and sexual assault were read out. The sexual predator was released on conditional bail until sentencing on May 10.

Throughout the four-day trial, Crawford was referred to as "Miss" by lawyers and Judge Michael Longman, and the rape indictment also specified that "her penis" was used during the rape. However, it is believed that Crawford will be sent to a men’s prison if given a custodial sentence.

The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, invited Crawford over in April of 2019 to play video games when the rape took place.

"[Crawford] wanted me to lie down next to her and then tried to start, like, cuddling me, which I don't feel comfortable with anyway. And then she started removing my clothes, which I didn't want, I did keep saying that, like, 'I don't want to,'" testified the victim.

Despite protests, the defendant began to rape the victim. The victim then testified to rolling over and pretending to go to sleep to end the ordeal.

The victim was asked why no attempt was made to fight Crawford off.

"What could I have done without using physical contact to stop her? And then that could have been me in the wrong by using physical contact to stop her," she replied.

Prosecutor David Scutt suggested that Crawford’s claim of suffering from blackouts was a "convenient excuse," that had no medical evidence to back it up. However, Crawford denied this.

"Is it just this, Miss Crawford, that you really can’t bring yourself to admit was happened and take full responsibility," asked Scutt. "It appears you can remember the good stuff, but you cannot remember the bad stuff. Are you pretending that you can’t remember?"

"That’s not the case," Crawford replied.

Crawford’s latest sexual offense bears striking resemblance to the one that landed the now trans-identified male behind bars in 2017. In that case, Crawford had befriended a 15-year-old girl online, gained her trust, and then lured her to a secluded area in the woods where the serial sex offender said, "you are going to get laid," before assaulting her.

In the event that Crawford is handed a custodial sentence, the trans-identified sexual predator is expected to be housed in a men’s prison following updated guidance from the Ministry of Justice and His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) that states trans-identified males who have male genitalia or have been convicted of sexual offenses will no longer be held in women’s prisons.

The February announcement from the Ministry of Justice came amid controversy surrounding the serial sex offender Isla Bryson being housed in a women’s prison in Scotland and the decision by the British government to invoke its Section 35 powers to block the Scottish government’s hotly contested Gender Recognition Reform Act that would have given any male, including those with past convictions for sexual offenses, the right to self-identify as female and gain access to women’s spaces.
