Mulvaney, who famously came out as a "girl" after a failed acting career has both advised Joe Biden on the issue of trans kids and brought down Bud Light through a disastrous marketing partnership. Mulvaney did not achieve any real recognition, other than an appearance on The Price is Right, until deciding to transition and document that journey on TikTok.
"I'm really shocked because I thought the only award I would ever maybe win was maybe a Tony award. But now I'm a musical theater gal with a streamy!" Mulvaney exclaimed, wearing a red satin mini dress, diamond necklace, blonde tresses, and high heels.
"532 days ago I made a coming out video that turned into my Days of Girlhood series, and my life has been changed for the better," Mulvaney said. "But on the flip side, there's also been an extreme amount of transphobia and hate."
Mulvaney encouraged those in the audience to use their platforms to publicly support the transgender community, saying these are difficult times.
"I know that my community is feeling it and I now know that even our allies are feeling it," Mulvaney continued. "And I look around this room and I just see so many amazing allies that have platforms. And I think allyship right now needs to look differently and you need to support trans people publicly and proudly."
Before making a veiled joke about the Bud Light scandal that got Mulvaney into trouble earlier this year, Mulvaney thanked the audience before rushing off the stage and said "I'm going to have a beer and...I love you."
Since the Bud Light marketing campaign that celebrated Dylan Mulvaney's "365 days of girlhood" in April, Anheuser-Busch has lost billions of dollars in revenue over nationwide boycotts of the brand and the coveted title of America's best-selling beer. Mulvaney recently slammed Bud Light for not supporting Mulvaney through the backlash, and escaped to Peru to "feel a sense of safety" after becoming an infamous controversial figure in the United States.
