Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had kind words for Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday, as the pair gave a brief media appearance before starting private meetings.
The two were both in Warsaw, Poland to meet with international allies.
"It's a real pleasure to see you," said Trudeau. "To see us, once again, standing strongly side to side on issues that matter so deeply. You yourself, and the Biden Administration and President Biden in particular, have been so strong on this issue, coordinating like-minded countries over the past week to prepare for this possibility of the unthinkable of Russia invading Ukraine, so when it did, the kind of alignment, the kind of strength and unity that we've shown, I think, has really made a difference."
"... Putin totally underestimated the strength and resolve of the Ukrainian people, but also underestimated the strength and resolve of democracies that stand up in support of Ukraine, but in support of those values and principals that underlie everything we do.
"From crippling sanctions... to unprecedented humanitarian aid, to military and security support who are fighting not just for Ukraine but for all of us, we continue to stand shoulder to shoulder and will continue to... Lots of other things to discuss, but obviously the priority that brings us both to Warsaw is us standing with Ukrainians," he said.
The appearance also served as the prime minister's seventh photo op of the day.
